Jones Community for Nonprofits opened in 1996 on the Jones Center campus and has operated under a few different names including The Center for Nonprofits @ the JTL Shop and the Family Resource Center. This Springdale site was originally where Harvey Jones kept his fleet of trucks in tip top working condition for over 50 years and was reimagined for community use in the late 1990s. In the ensuing decades, it has served the Northwest Arkansas community by providing many nonprofit organizations affordable, professional office and meeting space. Many of the original organizations continue to be housed in this facility, allowing them to utilize their financial resources on direct services, rather than large overhead costs.
At this downtown Springdale hub, more than forty nonprofit tenants are given long-term leases at below-market rates. The centralized location is on a bus route and allows local residents to access multiple services in a single, conveniently- located space.
The Jones Trust, custodian of Jones Community for Nonprofits, is an exempt operating foundation, established in 1994 by Harvey and Bernice Jones. The Trust owns 55 acres in Springdale, Arkansas, which previously housed the headquarters, truck terminal, and truck repair shop of the Jones Truck Line (JTL), founded by Mr. and Mrs. Jones.
