Leave a Legacy that Grows.
On the Jones Center campus stands a Post Oak tree that has been growing for more than a century. It was here before the building, and with care, it will be here long after us. In 1995, Bernice Jones planted something just as lasting: a gift to Northwest Arkansas, a place where everyone could gather to learn, play, and connect. Thirty years later, that gift welcomes nearly 600,000 visits each year.
A planned gift helps that vision keep growing for generations to come. Some planned gifts cost nothing today. Others may offer tax benefits now while supporting the causes you care about later. Whatever your situation, our philanthropy team is glad to work with you and your advisors to find the right fit.
Ways to Make a Planned Gift
Gifts in Your Will or Trust. A bequest is one of the simplest ways to leave a lasting gift. You can name Jones Center to receive a specific amount, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder after loved ones are provided for. You keep full use of your assets during your lifetime and can change your plans at any time.
Beneficiary Designations. Name Jones Center as a full or partial beneficiary of a retirement account, life insurance policy, bank or brokerage account, or donor advised fund. This is usually done with a simple form from your plan administrator and does not require changes to your will.
Gifts of Appreciated Stock. Giving stock or securities held for more than a year may allow you to avoid capital gains tax while receiving a charitable deduction for the full fair market value. Please contact Jones Center before starting a transfer so we can share secure instructions and make sure your gift is properly credited.
IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions. If you are age 70½ or older, you can give directly from your IRA to Jones Center. These gifts can count toward your required minimum distribution and are not included in your taxable income.
Charitable Remainder and Lead Trusts. These trusts can provide income to you or your loved ones while ultimately benefiting Jones Center, or support Jones Center first and later pass assets to your heirs.
Donor Advised Funds. Recommend a grant to Jones Center from your donor advised fund, or name Jones Center as a successor beneficiary of the fund.
Deep Roots
Strong roots grow quietly, out of sight, and give a tree the strength to stand for generations. Deep Roots is our giving society that represents the individuals and families who have included Jones Center in their estate and gift planning. Their generosity helps ensure that future Northwest Arkansas families will have a place to learn, play, and thrive.
If you have already included Jones Center in your plans, thank you. Please let us know so we can thank you personally, honor your wishes, and welcome you into Deep Roots. A simple Record of Estate Intention form is available on request. Sharing the amount of your gift is optional, your information is kept confidential, and you may choose to remain anonymous.
